Any upcoming high end products ?
« on: 16 Jul 2015, 08:29 pm »
Hi,

Does anybody know if we can expect any upcoming high end products from Nuprime, the likes of the Nuforce Ref20 for instance ?

I suppose RustydogLim knows something about that...

Not until next year.  It is not that easy to surpass Ref 20. Not only that many aspects of the sound has to be better, we have to surpass the power as well. There is no point coming out with something that is comparable. Very very tough job.

Any plan to make the REf 20 a Nuprime product?  It's weird to have a high end product that bears the name of a company (Nuforce) that does not commercialise any high end products anymore.

No High End Monobloc Amps, but I think we will see the HDAV-30 and the MCA K-28 coming end of September.

These are two very exciting High End HOME THEATER and MultiChannel Audio Products.

Fewer "bells and whistles" and more QUALITY SOUND.

The ad below was a bit premature and there have been some changes to both the look and feature set.

The pricing is also scheduled to be slightly different:

HDAV-30 is scheduled to be $1999
The MCA K-28 SE is now the MCA K38 and $2999

Rustydoglim can answer this better than I, since he knows the circuitry and component parts used, as well as how they are used.

I am under the impression that the DAC in the unit may be a version of the ESS SABRE 32 9018 chipset, but I don't think it is the same version as in the DAC-10.  It needs to have multi-channel capability.

Also while I know the Volume Control will be exceptional, I don't know if it will be the same overall as the DAC-10.

I do think that the MCA K-38 might be the equal or slightly better than the Ref 9 v3 SE, but again, RDL is more qualified to make that assessment.

I do, however think the quality may well be sufficient enough for me to consider consolidating my two separate (2 channel and Home Theater) systems into a single system.

All that said, I would think in the Highest Quality 2 channel Audio Realm, that you would be better served with the DAC-10.  Part of its virtue is likely due to the more limited circuitry and direct path ability.

Anything about a HAP-8 in the works?    All discrete (compact) preamp?

For some of us small is better!  Some of us would much rather be driving a top of the line, turbo-charged Mini Cooper.

I know it would make a great product.   I simply have no idea what the market is looking for these days. Thought I would ask just the same.

Thanks..

Nobody wants a pure preamp anymore. Just buy HAP-100 from the used market.
The world is going all digital. This make sense since the sources are all going digital.

Wait, but if you have vinyl source, you can use our soon to be released HPA-8 as a preamp, Phono amp and killer headphone amp.
HPA-8 has two RCA inputs, one phono input.  Two 6.2mm and one 3.5mm headphone outputs, plus one fixed RCA line out.

That's a pitty.

Note that Oppo has silver for the BDP-105.

You should match it.

Will there be a HDAV- x... processor variant   and  MCA-Kx... multichannel amp that have
- XLR  for  all the the audio channels   (I have currently  mch-3se-c7) ?
- I  really appreciate the USB input and DSD  support, but will there be also support for MCH DSD (firmware update) ?

Is there any chance of the HDAV-30 being upgraded to support Atmos?

I will post the manual soon.
I think XLR inputs and outputs are available.
No ATMOS.
