I have both IDA-16 and IDA-8. I have noticed recently that Audirvana on my Mac Mini recognizes IDA-16 as 24 bit(via USB) DAC. At the same time my IDA-8 appears as 32 bit DAC. How come? I checked with the specs and IDA-16 USB bit resolution swows 16-24 bit and IDA-8 appears as 16-32 bit. How come? They both use ESS Sabre 32 bit chips(9018 and 9010)as far as I remember). Can someone explain what is going on here?
