For anyone wishing to try tubes on the cheap, I just paired my evolution DAC with a Schitt Freya +, and I must say the sense of air and soundstage are magnificent.  Previously, I used the DAC direct to an amp, and this is a whole new experience for me.

I found the same when I paired my DAC10 with the Freya Plus.  Even better when I switched the JJ tubes out for Tung Sols.  Heard many reviews and frankly thought "No way, not Schiit and for that price".  I was wrong.  Much like watching a film in 3d. Completely different.

The soundstage continues to amaze me, but man does this bugger get hot!

I feel the same way about the solid sate version, Freya S. Schiit has done a fantastic job with the Freya pre-amps. Besides the great sound and build quality, the volume control is outstanding as well.

Scott....  were you saying the Freya solid state also produces a 3d sound?
