Title: Output level : JIMDAC vs Bugle
Post by: Adinoto on 22 Dec 2007, 09:33 pm
Hi all,
I have a Hagtech front end : NOS JIMDAC for digital and Bugle for LP.
If I'm correct, JIMDAC output is 1.5V from high level. Bugle is set at 60dB gain, cartridge is Benz Glider L2 with 0.3mV output, this should give 0.3V output from Bugle?
Instead I found that average it's louder when I played LP compare to CD, and this is not just to particular disc/LP. What is the explanation for this?
Thank you in advance

Regards

CDs are limited to a full scale value.  LPs and tapes can go waaay beyond the "reference" level.  You typically get 16dB or so peaks above the 3.54cm/s.
