I remember Tidal's imminent demise was declared the moment Jay-Z acquired it - and then every year since  :roll:. My guess is he's been hoping for a Beats-level payday, but will now settle for a third of that. Still a huge ROI considering he only paid $50m+ for the company.

Upside is I don't see Dorsey messing with the service, but be prepared for Twitter/Bitcoin integration...

tidal isn't going anywhere... quboz does sound a lil better though, but both are very good

I don't think Dorsey has any time to mess with TIDAL. After all he's running Twitter and Square. Maybe an attempt bring JayZ onboard for future investments. Who knows, TIDAL however doesn't seem to fit in very well.

It fits in very well. The target demo that actually consumes Tidal's music are the most likely to be active on Dorsey's other products. It may also allow him to expand that outreach by integrating into those other platforms. Since Dorsey poses as a tech-libertarian-bro with a Mel Gibson make-over, this deal could be good or bad for humanity but not his bottom line.
