Anyone have any thoughts or comments on using these to power a pair of MaxHemps?

There is a local pair for sale that I am thinking about checking out.

I bet they would be great with MaxHemps. Of course, I've never heard the Wright monos but it seems that they would have enough power and form a pleasant synergy :). For awhile I powered  my Omega Hemp Dipoles with a Scott integrated tube amp and I was very happy with the sound quality. Presently I'm using some Trends 10.1 T-amps while awaiting the restoration and upgrading of some Heathkit tube  monoblocks.

If they're a good price, go for it

I'm using his AG Phono pre and it's just amazing. No, it's better than that. Check the A'gon for prices. I've spoken with George several times over a bad transformer and like Louis, he always puts the customer first.

I was going to try and get a look/listen to these amps last weekend, but ran out of time. Going to try and get in touch with him and see if this weekend will work out.

My only concern is the 8wpc may not be enough to fully drive these speakers. I have heard that despite the 96db sensitivity of the MaxHemp's, they do like a fair amount of power. Any thoughts?

Out of curiosity, what amp are you using? And how do you like your SE32?

I thought about the Wright Mono 8, but I just scored a pair of Wright WPA3.5's for a great price instead. I have been using a pair of Quicksilver horn mono's with my compact hemps and wanted a change. It's not that i don't like the Quicksilvers, there great. I have a 2A3 amp in the bedroom system and love the sound it makes. The new Wright 2a3's will go with my compact hemps in a near field setup in the den. I'll let you know how it works out.

   Good one
My amp doesn't have any numbers on the volume control, but when I get my second one back (from an upgrade) and can run them mono I will have 6 watts and then it will sound like it goes to 11.

MCA,
The 2 watt amp is a Decware SE84cs.
I absolutely love my McAlister, top to bottom it is smooth, sweet, and full, it is a keeper.  :thumb:
