Stereo 70 #4 - "The 38 Year Old Virgin!"

Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Factory-Wired Version - Security Screws - These are special "Security Screws" used in the factory-wired version of the Dynaco Stereo 70. They hold the bottom cover to the main chassis. The bottom cover is not supposed to be removed by the purchaser, so these screws have "triple slots" that require a special removal tool. All this just to get UL certification!
Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Factoy-Wired Version - Bottom of amplifier. - Here's how Dynaco wired 'em! This is a factory-wired Dynaco Stereo 70, circa: 1970. If you look closely, you can see the factory inspection stamp to the left of the Power Transformer. This is an un-molested original. NOTHING has been replaced. All parts are in good working order and the amplifier sounds just beautiful!
Thumbnail for Serial Number Foil Label - on factory-wired units only - This silver-gray foil label is stamped with the Stereo 70's serial number. This label was only affixed to factory-wired units.
Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Factoy-Wired Version - Front View - Less Tube Cage/Cover - In order to obtain UL certification, Dynaco had to add a perforated cover over the Driver Board in order to protect curious fingers from some SERIOUS Voltage! This cover was only supplied with factory-wired units.
Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Factoy-Wired Version - Front View - With Tube Cage/Cover - This is how Dynaco made 'em in 1970. This is a totally un-molested, original, factory-wired Stereo 70. EVERY component is original and working perfectly. The rectifier is a NOS Mullard-manufactured, GE-branded GZ 34/5AR 4. The 7199's are NOS RCA black plates that came from a trusted tube supplier in South America. (Notice the import duty tax stamps!) The EL 34's are a factory-matched quad of Electro-Harmonix EL34EH tubes.

Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Bottom Cover - Here is the bottom of the bottom cover. A few scratches and one pit (at the top) but otherwise, pretty nice plating.
Thumbnail for Dynaco Stereo 70 - Factoy-Wired Version - Main View - Without Tube Cage/Cover - Now THIS is a BEAUTIFUL sight! This is a completely original, totally un-molested, factory-wired Dynaco Stereo 70 that was manufactured in 1970. The plating on the chassis is in VERY good condition. If I were describing this in "car guy" terms, I'd have to call this a condition 2 , or *maybe* even a 1-! Three tiny pits are the only real flaws in the plating.
