Our guest speaker is Vincent Sanders of VRS Audio Solutions, and his subject will be computer-based audio-playback systems.

Among numerous topics, together with a detailed Q and A session, Vincent will discuss the following:

1. The benefits of computer audio playback, and why.
2. iTunes and convenience vs. ultra-fidelity audio playback.
3. Consumer playback software vs. Pro audio playback software.
4. The importance of CD ripping methodology.
5. Qualitative differences between USB, S/PDIF, and FireWire connections.
6. Optimizing & Reconfiguring the digital platform.
7. Timing, timing, timing....the importance of clocking the digital signal.
8. Which GUI should I choose?
9. Pricing options for DACs and other computer audio hardware.

If you've ever thought about putting together a high-quality computer-based music playback system, or would like to enhance what you already have, this meeting is not to be missed.

As part of the presentation, members are invited to bring their favorite CD and hear a direct comparison of realtime playing vs. properly ripped music files.
