Niteshade Audio NS-40

Some facts:
What components and work are custom?
1) 18ga steel chassis is made at Parson's in Rome, NY
2) Wood wrap or trim comes from Delnero Furniature in Ft. Plain, NY
3) Custom, in-house circuit development here at Niteshade Audio
4) Point to Point wiring is all completed in-house @ Niteshade Audio
5) All steel work, minus the chassis itself is done at Niteshade Audio
6) Painting: Niteshade Audio

Construction details:

All enclosure seams are 100% welded:

18ga steel chassis.

Transformer Mounting:

The main power transformer is mounted with washers underneath and in between the plastic spacers that insulate the bolts from the transformer's laminations. This is a relatively small point to make, but it was done to increase mounting surface area as well as provide some ventilation.

The outputs are well secured too:

After assembly, a thread locker is applied over all transformer bolts to prevent them from backing off. Lighter weight attachments, such as tube sockets use lock washers.

Aesthetic details:
The 18ga chassis uses soft bends and all wood wrap has dovetail joints:

This NS-40 was designed to have a military appearance- thus the light grey iron. The laminations were kept natural and clear coated. Another feature: Fisher 500C output transformers were used.

Custom transformer finishes are now available.
