Still, it is peculiar.
Starting with nothing playing, the DAC reads 44.1 lock. I then select a recording that is in 96 and there are 2 little ticks. the samplerate selection first and then the lock. I stop playing and the Dac switches back to 44.1. Again 2 ticks. Resuming playing, it ticks again twice and locks into 96 and playing fine. Etc etc.
Why would it have to change the lock when there is no other sample rate selected? It sounds really unpretty, Maybe my specific circumstances of a very quiet piece of music that starts with the ambiance of the recording, ESL's, large amplifier (28b) and a balanced and thus louder connection between the BDA/BP26 and BDA/BDP aid to this, but still. would be nice if it could be avoided.

I think it is just the DAC locking on to a different sample rate.
