I think in their latest news 30 units went out last month. I'm glad I did not wait.

A nice monoblock amp that is late to the market by about 8 months.  Interesting story about how suppliers ran off with money etc...

(I can say "nice" because I saw and heard a prototype)

The shipping cost is $100 per amp
I received a email.  My order is shipping, and the shipping cost is $100 per amp.  I think it is too expensive for a $195 amp.  I cannot believe it.  I thought pre order saves some money but only $5.

OUCH!  Considering the the Le Amp II is lighter than the original Le Amp (which only costed me $55 to be shipped), I don't see the logic behind this.

It would seem after all the money NOrh has lost on these amps, it wouldn't be too hard to figure out. At least they're following thru on these orders, that shows persistence and that is good for everyone. If the performance is as good as Marbles says, your getting allot of amp for the money. :D Regards, Robin

I also just received notice that my units are shipping on Monday, the shipping is $150/pr to California, I've waited this long, I think I'm going to see if there is a cheaper alternative, maybe by boat, no hurry on my part. The original Le Amps were shipped to US addresses from North Carolina, that's why they were much cheaper.

Yes, I also received notice that mine would ship on 1/12/2004 and shipping to CA would be $150.  Maybe there are extra security inspection charges or something?

Shipping Charge

No matter what, I still think $100 shipping charge for my unit is too high.  I hope the amp worth it.

I got my amp.

My amp arrived yesterday.  $100 shipping cost is too expensive.

I keep it on all the time during the burn in process.  The amp runs warm even without audio signal.  I do not see signal activate switch.  I will keep my eyes on it and tell you my impression later.

Harley,

I did ask but it turns out it is more expensive, this is Namphung's e-mail:

"Freight charge minimum(small volume) to ship by sea $ 120/CBM only port to port and you have to pay custom formality $ 75 Total : $195."

Air to Ca. is $150/pr

Dean,

The early-bird special for those who ordered before last summer was $195 each amp plus shipping charges.

The current website price is $295 each with shipping to the U.S. included.
