The thing is Industrial Recovery Services is a Auction Service, and they specialize in the auction of equipment used in the wood working industry. Sounds like Thiel will be acquiring new equipment as they move to Music City.

"Thiel also told dealers that they were retaining a small customer service/service operation in Lexington, KY that will be in a new facility. Popular employees Lana Ruth (Sales Administration) and Rob Gillum (Director of Manufacturing) will remain in Lexington as this service center is expected to continue."

Start over folks.  No more political posts or arguing with each other.  Read the posting rules in the about/help tab.

I suspect that due to the current state of high end audio dealers vs. several years ago, they will be making more products with more content from places in the far east at lower price points.  It's happened to other companies before, Mirage for example.  I had a pair (of SM-3s) many moons ago of Mirages early designs and they made some nice speakers and were sold in audio shops.  Ohm Acoustics also used to be sold in stores at one point.  Polk at one point was entry level high end sold in many specialty audio shops as well.  With the internet there are so many nice speakers sold (just look at some of Audio Circle's sponsors) which are direct to consumer that many of the older models don't work as well.

Here is an editorial that more or less sums up what has happened to the high end audio market over the course of time - http://dagogo.com/the-future-of-quality-audio-a-manifesto-for-progress

Actually since none of us know a darn thing about what Thiel is doing, we can just speculate till the cows come home. Once the move is completed and they actually announces something it's all pure speculation which is as close to rumor as you can get.

The title of the thread seemed to encourage speculation.

Purely speculative. The reason Thiel has stopped talking to the press and the reason two of the key people that were brought in to lead the company are now gone is because business is sooooooo good that they no longer need the press or leadership to help them make money.

Thiel is now making money faster than Warren Buffet!

Not surprising, except, perhaps to some.

Supposedly, the service facility in Lexington KY (https://www.twice.com/the-wire/thiel-audio-opens-new-dedicated-service-facility-lexington-ky-54864) is still operating.  Not sure how long that will last.

Thiel's new website just announces wireless speakers all so popular our days and they do not have a nary hint of what Thiel once was.  It is sad.  Reminds me of Altec Lansing brand that was used to gawk useless computer speakers made in the far east.

I remember visiting the Thiel room at AXPONA last year. I felt truly sorry for the rep touting the new Aurora brand. He was one of the loneliest guys at the event.
