Sound bar project
« on: 4 Aug 2023, 11:45 pm »
Hi my name is Corey from Melbourne Victoria Australia,
I was looking for a sound bar project to build, came across a few design’s and settled on a design from Toid’s diy audio.
He has the plans and instructions available for free on his website.
I ordered all the parts from Parts Express, but I upgraded all the caps to poly caps and copper end cap resistors.

I forgot at add in my last post I’m using a Arylic 2.1 Bluetooth amp so I can add a subwoofer to the sound bar, the amp and crossovers were put on a board and fitted behind the tv cabinet.

Very nice!  How did you mount it to the wall?

And I assume you routed all the wiring through the wall?  But how did you get the wiring into the sound bar?  Or did you recess the connections?

First of all I mounted the sound bar with split battens recessed into the back of the sound bar so it can be flush mounted to the wall.
And the wiring is quite straight forward.
I put a hole in the wall behind the amp and crossovers and another hole above the first one on the wall behind the sound bar and ran the wires threw straight into the sound bar with no binding posts used.
