This really only applies to people who received unadulterated HDTV streams over the airwaves.
Have you noticed some pretty good sound quality on some of the backing music on some TV shows lately. I noticed some orcestral cuts on either 24 or Prison Break last week that had great depth and soundstaging, and some of the N'Orleans bluesey cuts on Boston Legal the past few weeks have been pretty dynamic, clean and uncompressed with great body.
Of course most of it is pretty poor, especially considering that they can broadcast in what are pretty damn good audio formats.
