Pass & Seymour vs ACME

Anyone have experience on these outlets?  It appears that the ACME is a Pass & Seymour with silver plating and cryo treatment.  The Pass & Seymour is $9.95 and the 20 amp Acme cyro is $45.  Is the extra $35 worth it?

I need 10 of them.

I'm sure Wayne could offer some input on this. I know he's had experience with the 20A ACME.

I've only used Eagle/Cooper IG8300 20A Hospital grade outlets so far. At $10 a piece they're by far the best price/performance piece I've ever bought for my setup.

Start cheap...if you are not satisfied move up to the Acme.  I have the P&S and they made big improvements.   I have never tried the ACME.

OK.  I just found this site.

http://www.electricaldeals.com/html/prodresults.php3?Category=WD1&Subcategory=SR1

A 10 pack of the P&S 20 Amp Outlets (PS 5352-W) for $35.90.  I just ordered a 10 pack.   :D

All of 5 minutes to search the interent to find that.

I can have them Cryo treated for almost nothing.

I think I am a happy camper at this point.  I may buy a couple of the Acme's just to compare, but at $45 each I may hold off for a while.

That's a great price on P&S outlets, are they hospital grade?  I found a promising looking power strip at:

Looks like they run about $50 U.S..  Not bad considering a PS Audio Juice Bar is around $200.

The P&S 5352-W outlets are Industrial grade, not Hospital grade. But $35.90 for a 10 pack is pretty good. I just bought a couple of Cooper 5352-W's for about $5.50 a piece.

THey're pretty decent outlets. But they don't quite grip as tight as an IG8300 20A Hospital grade outlet.

I'm with Bubba...I've bought a bunch of Eagle I8300's for two houses...super improvement for $10.00 each at Lowe's.

I changed out a couple recently with PS Audio Power Ports (normally $50.00 each, but I got a 33% off 'deal').  Not a whit of friggin' difference I could hear (or see, as I put one in the modest video system).  Maybe my system doesn't have ultimate resolution to hear the difference, but I couldn't hear or see it.  I also changed out the std. hospital grade outlets on the Power Plant to the Power Ports...and again couldn't hear a darn thing different.

Maybe long term I would as they are nickel plated versus plain ol' steel - so they won't oxidize.

Whatever...it's all part of the fun and games of this insidious hobby...
