Duke Ellington & His Orchestra ~ Newport 1958
Columbia, 1958

Likewise brother CB  :thumb:  Hard to beat the Duke. Good to see you. Believe it or not I've got 8+ inches of snow since Fri, with more coming right now. The 6" we got a week ago wasn't even gone when this round started. It's snowmageddon around here.  :o

Hey Rich, I have a lot of Kenton, but not that one, is it really awesome enough I should look for it?

And AD, your Wes M. post reminds me, I think I bought a Wes album recently that's yet to hit my table, it's snowing here, good time to clean it and spin it. But first, I have to just find it.

Definitely. And also "Stan Kenton Today," if you don't already have it. Those are the two live albums that really exemplify the final band at its best. The SQ is just OK, so enjoy the streams rather than look for clean vinyl. I have them both on 8track (my father bought them when first released,) vinyl and CD, and I stream them now, and there's no SQ difference. The band occasionally overloads the mics.

Bill Evans Trio* Featuring Scott La Faro* ‎– Sunday At The Village Vanguard

Bought a pair of Vandersteen 3A Signatures a month ago, still playing with placement. Saw this LP on the 'best live music' thread so put it on.

I'm getting close.

 CB. Nice selection, EW is always a good listen.  8)  Yeah, our norm is 50 daytime, barely cracked 30 for 3 weeks, now just over 40. Still got snow on the roofs & yards, but going away slowly. Nice in that it helps avoid flooding. Guess I haven't missed much not visiting my buddy Miller & you so far. We'll see what March brings.  :thumb:  Cheers
