Hello to all,

Recently I came across with very interesting, and new topic for me, that is the use of vintage caps and transformers, that are implemented by some custom build amp's designers...

Appreciate very much the teachings about this concept, that is important to know, for a newbie like me, when looking for an amp, that have vintage caps and transformers.

Which are the better types of vintage caps, that worth to be used on tube amp? aluminum? oil? paper? (sorry if i'm not describing the types correctly)

Sorry for my lack of repertoire about the subject, probably my knowledge about this subject will increase  after the teachings from more experienced audio enthusiasts.

As far as I know, I always thought that any capacitor after some 10... 20 years, loose their performance, even being NOS, but appears this is not necessary truth, right?

Many thanks! best regards to all.
