OK, I solved my problem, and my mistake was so idiotic, I'll just erase the entire post. However, I would like to add my comments to the many in praise of the Bugle. This preamp is phenomenal for it's price and amazing at any price. Simple to build, and, even, more or less idiot proof.
My 'grounding' problem, by the way, was caused by wiring the external RCA's backwards. I don't know what got over me.
