Title: David's Bosse HT3's
Post by: jsalk on 15 Jan 2007, 03:04 am
David wanted something really special.  But we had a hard time settling on a veneer.

We looked at cherry, walnut and a few others.  One day I ran across some very nicely figured African bosse pommele.  When we sent David a sample, the search was over! We combined it with some Australian lacewood trim and here are the results...

David also ordered a matching Veracity HTC center channel.  Unfortunately, I didn't have time to shoot any photos.  But here are some more that at least show the veneer in greater detail...

Happy listening David!

Jim,
Thank you again for all your patience and willingness to answer ALL of my questions throughout this entire process.  I have a feeling that the next few days (during shipment) will seem longer than the entire time it took to build them!  I can't wait to receive these and get them hooked up and going.  I'm sure they will sound even better than they look which is saying a lot!

I'm certainly looking forward to seeing and hearing them too. They're gorgeous. I can tell those pics can't do them justice.

Your gonna LOVE them!!  Ive had mine for over 8 months now!   A word of wisdom - when the wife is NOT around pull of the grill covers and it will improve the dispersion by X10!!!!   I have FINALLY got my wife to accept the top grills off (I did mine as separate grills)!   Thanks again Jim!

I've had them for about two weeks, and loving them.  I'm waiting for some new electronics (AVA items) before I post my thoughts about them.  I will say however that they do have bass!

There really isn't much I can say that hasn't been said many, many times already.  Great cabinet work - although there was some shipping issues, but Jim is taking care of that.  The plinths got damaged.  But, if there had to be any damage, this is the area to have it at.

Steve - no wife so I can play them with the grills off (and leave them off) if I so desire.

More to come later after I've had a chance to use them with the AVA gear.  Should be interesting going from an old receiver to very nice separates.

Thanks all
David

Marbles,

Currently running a Pioneer Elite VSX-07TX which I'll continue to use for HT duty for awhile yet.
