It looks interesting, but considering there are no 4K projectors (or at least the article doesn't list any) and the LG 84 inch 4K flat screen is 20,000 (and the Sony is 25k), it'll be a while before these become mainstream.  Once 4K projectors and flat screens are out and under 3k, these might get some traction.

Personally, I've only now begun investing in Bluray and only for those movies I really like and think deserve it (or are new and out on Bluray).  I have tons of DVDs I still watch. I have no 3D and don't plan on getting any unless I have to do so (e.g., the projector I want has 3D). I recently purchased a TV and bought a plasma specifically without 3D.  It'll be long, long while before I buy 4k.
