Speaker wiring on SP Techs (and Aether?)
« on: 16 Dec 2011, 05:24 pm »
Hi folks,

My SP Minis just arrived and while they have lovely metal speaker  posts, they are not marked Red and Black. Anybody have a manual or able to peek behind the speaker to see which post should receive the red wire and which the black?

Is the post closest to the SP Tech logo red or black?

On mine they are marked but hard to see(look in the top corner). The - is closest to the label.

by convention
The RED or Positive is the right side one
The Black is the Left one.  batter test will
determine is the Drivers are wired in Positive
polarity.  From behind As you are looking at it.

Nice speakers.  Enjoy.
Still own a pair of AV2/Presence.
with additional Response audio XO

Many thanks. Got it sorted now. Was looking in low light and missed the - & + signs on the plastic mount next to the metal posts themselves.

So far, I am really liking them in what I would certainly call a sub-optimal set-up. Driven by some bridged Emotiva BPA-1s (a weak link for sure) and placed outside my prior speakers on what can hardly be called proper stands, and too far apart to boot. So far so good. Let the dialing in begin...

I'll post more later on a more appropriate thread.
