626jr-w/MegaWoofer In-wall install
« on: 1 Dec 2008, 11:53 pm »
Like the title says, I have a pair of 626jr w/Megawoofer installed in-wall.

I will attempt to post some pictures of the install.  Here is my member gallery http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?action=gallery;area=browse;album=1653

Brian made the cabinets about 40" x 9.5" x 5.25" due to some odd existing framing.  They are also sealed.

They sound great!

It only took about 10 days from start to finish for Brian to complete the speakers.

Thanks again.

Cool,

I know many have been waiting for pics of these.

"I" haven't even seen them yet.

You have to know that these are the best "surrounds" ever.  With the CDWG there is a lot of placement flexibility and the sound is "perfect" from virtually any position from directly to the side, to well behind you, as suggested by DD, and THX in the ITU configuration.

The gallery is a nice look at the project.  I can move these over here if it helps.

Your Beginning with the old Fireplace

Then the Re-DO "waiting" for the 626's

626 IN-WALLS "before buttoning up"

Thanks John!  That was my intent.

The project is not quite done yet.  We are waiting for the travertine surround (think 6" wide picture frame).  After that the carpet and baseboard will be patched in.

Then the new furniture.....

The VMPS 626's were my wife's gift to me!!

She wanted a new fireplace.  Then decided to mount the TV over the fireplace.

I said we might as well put some speakers there and free up more floor space aa

She agreed :thumb:

Thanks again to Brian and John for their help.

...and now for the rest of the story...

TV - JVC 37" LCD
HDMI cable from Blue Jeans cable (highly recommend them)
Speaker cable from Blue Jeans
HDMI auto switchbox from Oppo Digital (works great!)
Comcast HD Cable Box/DVR
Oppo DV-980H DVD player
Onkyo Receiver TX-DS484
Onkyo 6-disc carousel C-340
Misc. wallplates from Monoprice.com (highly recommend)
