Title: Removing dust from vinyl with a running plate?
Post by: Rushboy on 24 Aug 2023, 05:28 pm
I would be interested to know which vinyl brush you use when the plate is running?
With more pressure, the plate slows down or almost stops.
Or the plate tilts slightly.
Turntable Well Tempered Simplex.

You don't need to apply pressure, the brush just needs to lightly rest on the surface.

I use both Frurutech SK-III and Pro-Ject Carbon brush.

I use an old Oracle carbon fiber record brush. There are several carbon fiber record brushes available that are very similar. Audioquest and Audio- Technica for example. These require very little force and do not slow the platter down during the process. But the real key is to have your records super clean in the first place via a vacuum or ultrasonic record cleaner....maybe both.
