Hello,
Am wondering if the Realistic R1000EDT is the same as, or has a similar form-factor to, the Shure M97xE. The Realistic looks as if it should fit on a Dual TK-14/TK-24 sled, and has the same connection lugs in back as the M97.
I ask because I have found an R1000EDT, in good shape, at a much better price than M97's tend to go for. Am thinking of using it for playing questionable discs that I don't want to chance with my M97. Check the disc visually, use a carbon-fiber brush, then play to see if it's sound and worth cleaning properly.
Turntable is a Dual 1245. I would buy another sled, set up the R1000 properly, then swap cartridges as needed.
