BCD-3 Faceplate
« on: 23 Jan 2024, 03:06 am »
I just received a new BCD-3. As expected, it sounds immaculate and the new remote is very nice. I ordered the silver 17" with green LED. My only disappointment is that I don't feel the faceplate is as nice as the other Bryston equipment I own. All of my the other recent Bryston equipment (2.5B3, BP17, PS3, BP2 and BIT15s) have a beautifully engraved Bryston logo and the printing is very handsomely fine and maybe a bit grey. This BCD-3 has the Bryston logo printed instead of engraved and the lettering seems darker and the font seems to be thicker. Even worse, a small part of one of the letters is missing. When did this faceplate change? Is there any chance that there are still old faceplates around for those of us who really like their equipment to perfectly match?

Hi Folks

We have moved away from anodizing about 2 years ago due to a number of reasons so we would not have any older faceplates.
The letter missing is a problem and if we can get the unit back we will change the faceplate for you.
Please email me  jamestanner@bryston.com.

I will post the reasons for the change away from anodizing.

What about the engraved Bryston logo? To me that was a signature feature for Bryston. When was that discontinued on the BCD-3? Has the engraving been dropped from all Bryston products?
