Tube Testing
« on: 25 Apr 2022, 09:46 pm »
Does anyone know a vendor that will test tubes - specifically for noise?

Tube Depot will test for operation, but I need to know noise since I would like to sell.

The tubes in question are a pair of EML 300B mesh tubes.

They have been boxed up for a while, maybe 1,000 hours on them???

Also, assuming these are not microphonic, anyone have a gauge on a decent asking price?

I think I paid around $850 or so for the pair when I purchased them.

Thanks in advance -

Vintage Tube Services will do a complete test service for a reasonable price, especially considering the cost of expensive 300b tubes. It does appear Andy is very busy with the tube hoarding that's going on so it might take a while.

These guys have experience with noise testing but it dont require previous expérience just a tube amp with DC heating if you dont mind taking the risk of putting untested valves in your amp.
