Just realized I’m the one who started this thread..

I guess I should post my current setup, it’s been about 18 months since I’ve posted here..

Quick answer, I’m running (E.M.L. 300B xls) output tubes in my Aric Audio Super 300B SET amp..

But I suppose the output tubes only tell part of the story, considering my amp has 10 tubes in total..

On the power supply unit I have a pair of (Sylvania OA3) and a pair of (Sophia Electric 274B) ..

On the amp unit input tubes are (Sophia Electric 6SN7), driver tubes are (Sylvania - Bogen 6v6gt), and the output tubes are (Emission Labs 300B xls)..

I use a Decware (Zrock2 ) to enhance the bass , the tube in the Zrock is a medical grade Mullard 12AU7

The DAC in use is the OPPO 205 modified by Modwright, tubes in the DAC are NOS Mullard E188CC, and a RCA 5R4GY in the Modwright power supply..

So far the EML 300Bs are the only ones I’ve ever tried..
Looking at the WE 300Bs , or possibly a set of Psvang, or Sophia Electric..

But for the price of the WEs I could have a Decware “Rachael” on order..
These 300Bs are so expensive it’s discouraging to buy more than one set of tubes..

Pretty happy with my current setup..

Streamer/Server- InnuOS- ZEN mk3

Cables( Hapa -USB and RCA) (T.W.L - power) (Zenwave-speaker)

Speakers- Tekton DIse / pair of Enzo subs..

Would like to upgrade the DAC to something else down the road..
(Holo , Aqua, SP1X, Audio Note) $3,000-$5,000..

The only other upgrade I would be interested in would be a set of VOLTI “Rival” Speakers, but at $10,000 to $15,000 it’s not an easy move..
But the Klipsch  (Cornwall 4s) are looking interesting at $6,000..?!!

Happy listening to all ,

This Ampsandsound headphone amp uses 1626 output tubes.  Used in circa 1940 radar installations. I have two variants of this amp.

Some really nice amps on these pages. And a slew of tubes I've never heard of!      :thumb:

In my relatively prosaic Rogue Cronus Magnum, I use Reflector 6P3S-E power tubes (surprised no-one else has mentioned them), along with NOS Radiotechnique, Mullard, and RCA or Raytheon pre-amp, driver and phase splitter tubes respectively.

I use NOS Mullard, Amperex, and Tung Sol tubes in my Lampizator DAC.

I have a Dennis Had Inspire KT88 Firebottle. It is designed to allow a ton of options. I am currently enjoying RCA 6f6 outputs with a tall Sylvania 7n7 input tube. RCA 5y3 rectifier. I also really enjoyed using GEC e3375 outputs, an RCA 6bx7 input, and an RCA 5u4g. I have put a ton of outputs and inputs in the amp. 6v6, 7c5, 807, 6ar6, el38, 6ez5, 7189a, KT66, and KT88 outputs. 6sn7, 7n7, 6f8g, 6sl7, 7f7, and 6bx7 inputs. Lots of brands and variations of those inputs too. I'm going to be getting some 6k6g and some 6c8g tubes to try too because why not? Lol
