Advice on power supply
« on: 10 Oct 2004, 10:38 am »
Hi
Looking for some advise regarding a power supply for my PC based head phone set up. I only have 2 components that will need power, a Benchmark DAC-1 and a Head phone amp which is powered via a 24v PSU. I have found 3 possible choices Smart Sound P2000, TRICHORD POWERBLOCK 500 both at £300 and Isotek's Gemini at £199. Has any body had any experience with any of the 3 and could give me some idea as to which one would suit my system the best or is there any thing else worth considering in the £300 cost area. Really looking for the best bank for the bucks!!!!!!!

Thanks

There is a ton of info here on that subject, do some searches :D .  Best bang for the buck, IMHO, are the OneAC units.  You should be able to get a 3a and a 5a for under $10 an amp delivered.  Also check out this thread for another great alternative...  http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=12370  Ginger followed up this thread in the lab circle with more info on the x class rated caps

Enjoy!
