I got them downloaded.
i had issues with Win7 64 and getting the two large zip archives to open [each double album was ~4GB] windows kept saying the .zip archive was "invalid"
once I got individual links from the download service, I was in business.
I've listened to each of the studio albums once, and have not listened to the bonus tracks yet.
IMO, Gish is much improved from the CD version. the dynamic range was much improved from the standard CD mix. the bass, mids and treble seemed natural and not excessive.
I'd say the Gish Download is a must for any serious Pumpkins fan.
Siamese Dream is OK. I didn't do any back to back comparisons, but nothing jumped out as markedly beter than my memory of the CD version.
Chris K. posted some spectrograms and measured the Dynamic range of the siamese dream album, and it appeared to be ~2db louder on average than the DCD version.
In my opinion, siamese dream is a fine download, but on first listen, I didn't feel it was incredibly better than the original.
After listening to both albums, the next redbook album I listened to did sound flat, dull and lifeless compared to the 24/96 pumpkins tracks, so maybe siamese dream is a bit better than I'm giving it credit for, but GIsh seemed the better of the two.
