Help with first hi-res download...
« on: 23 Jun 2011, 12:46 am »
I just downloaded a hi res file from Bluecoast records.
It's Jane Selkye and Chris Kee    Slow Day.
I have it on my desktop as a wave sound file but when I try to transfer it to where I store my music I get a checksum error???
What am I doing wrong??

What is the sample rate/bit depth of this wav file, 24/96?  What do you mean "transfer it to where you store your music"?  Your hard drive?

Hi Ted, the file is 24/96 and when I downloaded it I saved it to my desktop as a zip file.
I open it with winzip and then try to extract it to my external hd where my music is so that I can play it using foobar.
My system consists of a modded hiface transport feeding a Grant Fidelity Dac.

Sounds like the zip-file got corrupted while downloading.

Happens sometimes, in my experience esp when download speed is low.

Try redownloading it.
