I have recently become a proud owner of PMC GB1 speakers. When I auditioned the speakers they were paired with Bryston B60 amp. During the listening session I haven't noticed any clipping, but my room (28 m^2) is slightly bigger than auditioning room so I arranged to have the a home test ... soon.
Still, I am concerned that 60Wpc will not make 87db/W/m GB1s "shine" /as someone well put it/.
I listen to all kinds of music, sometimes loud. How loud, I wouldn't know.
No police at the door yet.
I've read (or heard) that 87db/W/m can be misleading due to ATL influence and that GB1s are, actually rather easy to drive. As you can see, I can't make heads or tails of that.
Any comments? Suggestions? /needless to say B60 is the top price I can afford or I'd simply buy more powerful Bryston
