As per the Facebook photo the back of CD is open which means this speaker will be open baffle throughout the fq range.
Still a bit too much for me price wise, but looking very interesting.

We need a video review. :)

Also, the bases in the photo where speakers are black are different. One has some kind of support for the baffle, the other one does not (or it is an optical trick where my eyes cannot see the left one has support).
I also saw a black and red combo photo where the base was again different. I assume the final decision about the base is still not made or these are rendering from different phases of the project.

The red and black looks the neatest as there are now screws visible in the waveguide and the base is metal only (matter of taste of course).

The final base design is shown in the image of the black speaker. It is very rigid while also being more compact.

Thank you for the clarification.

What would be a minimum "recommended" room size for these speakers?
Will they work in a near field setup as well?

The X1s can be used in a fairly small room due to the open baffle low frequency section, so a good working minimum would be 13 wide x 17 deep. They will of course open up more in larger rooms. They will need to be away from the front wall 3 ft.

The X1 is superb in near field applications since everything above 300Hz is emanating from a single source.

Our products are available factory direct, so interested parties are encouraged to visit our showroom in Salt Lake City for a demonstration. As production commences, there should be a number of customers on the east coast willing to demo their own systems. The X1 will also be on display at several audio shows next year - Munich, Los Angles Audio Show and Rocky Mountain Audiofest.

The Hologram M3 will be at Axpona in the Lampizator room. I will not attend that show - gearing up for X1 Debut in Munich.

Glad I'll be making the trip to Utah in December.   :green:  Already have reservations for Axpona and am thinking about Munich too as I might have business there anyway.

We we not able to demo the X1 in Munich due to a variety of amplifier and computer problems - so they were static. We did show the new M3 Triode Master in another system to good effect. It is very tough to get good sound at the Munich show - more of an expo where you look and talk. It was a lot of fun though. We will demonstrate the X1 next week at the LA show with the Vinnie Rossi LIO.
