ive been forced to run my cd direct and use its volume control-
sounds like the type of thing you guys would want to do-so much less stuff in the way- even with a passive you have parts or a dac you still have lots of connections.

its a sheng-ya s10 tube cd and it sounds wonderfull run direct-kavent and vincent are mfg by same company- all class a output

you guys might want to start trying some cdp's with volume control-could be a sweet match

Hi Rosconey,

Do you happen to know what type of volume control is in your cd player?
(Is it a potentiometer, a digital volume chip, or something else?)

You don't happen to know the output impedance, do you?

As long as it isn't the kind that reduces the number of bits, it sounds good!
I know you ditched your Toshiba 3950 for it

Thanks for posting,

Audio Output Voltage ……………… 2 V ± 1.6 dB

not sure what type of volumecontrol-only works from remote so it might be a digital chip-it doesnt reduce the quality at all
