Saw this ad just posted on Audiogon for DB100's for $3K delivered. Seems like a great deal for people using SET power :

BTW, I have no interest in this sale. I just think it looks like a good deal that a VS admirer would want to check out.

i could sell my dB99's, buy the dB100's, gain 1dB of sensitivity and pocket $2000-$3000.

I remember seeing the dB100's when first introduced at CES yrs ago...  Wavelength amps were driving them I believe..  All dressed in black cloth, the 100's sure sound terrific... The only BIG problem was their appearance,,, big coffins set up in your living room could leave you "terminal"!  The db99's soon followed and their was no looking back...  The 99's were/are stunning,, they were released in terrific Wilson like finishes in a variety of colors..  Used with my Wavac SET and later with sweet VAC amps,,, I had sellers remorse when I let my pair in Af Hazelwood with black woof drivers go...  Jack

the dB99's are stunning and i could never part with mine. since i purchased them, i've stopped looking/demoing speakers. plus, i had a sweet custom 1/4" steel plinth/outrigger made for them.

They must have gone pretty fast, they're not listed anymore.  There is a pair of DB99's listed though, for $4500.

i'm enjoying them for the most part. i haven't found a "set and forget" setting for them. on some recordings i need to turn them down as they feel too sibilant and some recordings i crank them up. right now, they stay between 3 and 6 depending on the recording and my mood. just something else for me to fiddle with i suppose.
