My most humble VSA set-up

In front of my VR1 and VR-S/1:

Power amp: DIY dual mono SS amp or Accuphase E303 (power section only)
Preamp: DIY 6922 based Aikido or DIY Lightspeed Passive Preamp
Digital Source: DIY CDRom player (dual output section - tubed and SS)
Analog Source: 
-- Phono Preamp:  Black Cube SE or Modded Musical Fidelity VLPS with Battery PSU
-- Turntables:  Technics SL 1200 ('80s model with OL RB250 arm) or Technics SL 1200 M5G

Quick Update- 

APL modded Denon DAC was replaced 7 weeks ago by an APL Prototype 2nd generation AKM 32-bit SUPER-DAC.  It has 20 32-bit DACs/side, 211 upsampler, double Class A tubed output stage and is a duplicate of the DAC setup in the NWO-4.0SE, but in a standalone box.  As far as I know, it is the only 1 in existence.

After about 465 hours, it has finally "opened up" and puts every other DAC I've heard to shame(including all the expensive ones I heard as CES).  Just amazing.  This has also provided a bit more low-level detail from my 7's, which is a good thing.  Within the next 3 weeks, I will be upgrading preamps to a new VAC Signature MK IIa as well as doing the bypass Cap upgrade to the mids and tweets of the 7's.  Almost started re-racking the system this weekend to look much better, fortunately came to my senses before I got too far.  WAY too much brain damage - will wait until summer..

PC          : Windows based PC connected via Firewire to Weiss INT202 (Firewire to AES/EBU converter) and from there with AES/EBU to Emmlabs DAC2
