Hey guys. I just picked up my rack from the powdercoaters, and I gotta say, IT SURE LOOKS SWEET!!!
This is a prototype rack for shows, and it's design makes changing shelf height a breeze. I initially anodized the aluminum, but that wasn't holding up very well. Not only was it flat, but it was rough to the touch. Powdercoating fixes that. I'll get the shelves on tomorrow.
Oh, and everyone have a great Thanksgiving!!!
PEACE
Ed

Next time do hard-coat anodize and you will not have an issue.

I think the surface prep before the anodizing was the problem. It was sandblasted, and that gave the surface an almost abrasive feel. The buisness that applied the powdercoatingredients knew what they were doing. This surface is almost mirror-like, oh so smoooooth, and extremely tough. I am very happy with the end result.

The new finish is better than ever! The gloss really does the trick for this rack, if Ed still has it by Axpona, be sure to check it out!
