I am intrigued by the mmtmm. Can anyone give any specs on these speakers, specifically bass extension and frequency response range, +/- x dB?

Also are these the same drivers? http://www.lucidacoustics.com/Proto.html Thought I saw a super expensive pair of speakers on Audiogon under the name Lucid something or other, and the drivers looked like these as well.

Thanks in advance.

The MMTMM is about +/-1.5db (really smooth) up to 9kHz. It has a little bit of a dipped area right where one would typical associate brightness. So there is nothing glaring or offensive about these. They are very smooth and easy to listen to. Above 10kHz the tweeter has a natural dipped area, but it is not too bad.

The small sealed box starts an early but very gradual roll off to help mirror image the gain one gets from having these near a wall or flush with the front of an entertainment system. -3db in room response will be in the mid to upper 80's.

Also, only the inside two woofers actually cross over to the tweeter. The two outer woofers are just rolling into the lower ranges for added bass response and power handling.

These things rock on my desk and  I do use a subwoofer to round out the lows.

I've been asked about finishes and here's the thing: there are lots of surfaces on these things and we aren't going to double the price to do real wood veneers.

These are each hand-made in the USA where time = money.   It's a very acoustically functional, matte black finish for a unique and awesome product.

Jeff has started building up an inventory so I hope more people will give them a try.

The discount period is over but I will offer a money back if you would rather not keep them.

Also, if you're one of Danny's regulars, he is authorized to sell you the driver kit, enclosure dimensions, and cross-over design if you want to build your own enclosures.  Jeff has tooled up the production enclosures on his CNC router and I can't offer you the production CAD files (sorry).

Seth sorry I didn't make myself clear. Is the price for a flatpak the same as the completed MTM? This is where I'm confused. There isn't a price for the speaker completed and finished.

Thanks

Seth,

It's a little confusing listing only in ascending price.  If the models were grouped together, it might be a little easier?

Seth, I think the confusion may be that the completed MtM Omni is not listed for sale on your website (only the flatpack is). So there doesn't seem to be a way to order it.

Tying to find out what the -3dB down point of the MMtMM is on the low end, the sensitivity and if you ship to the UK?

EDIT NVM appears to be upper 80s from the above posts  - a bit too high for me.

Raj,

Danny posted response curves for these.  They're not full-range so to speak.  But amazing sounding with a sub.

These units are heavy and low cost: I would prefer not to ship internationally.

Troubles with customs, damage, etc. can eat up any margins very fast.

Thank you for understanding,

Seth

Hey Seth,
Are the lucid white speakers still available for sale? I'm considering the MT model for a bedroom system. 85 db efficient but fairly easy to drive, are they 4 ohms or 8 ohms? Sealed or ported (as far as I know the mtm is ported) Approximate F3? Tuning? Most importantly, being an omni design, do they need to  be at a minimum of 3 feet from walls in all directions?
Thanks
David

They are 87db sensitivity, 8 ohms, and tuned to 65Hz. The MT is really not an omni design and it can be placed close to a wall if needed.
