Hi Jim/Dennis,

Is there that much sound quality difference between an accuton mid/bass and seas mid/bass?  The seas mid/bass driver used in my ht2 sounds very good and is better than focal ime.

I'd be interest in your collective comments.

You didn’t ask me but I will chip in.   The link below is a comparison of the Ellis 1801B and the 1801C.  The main difference between the two is the Seas W18 midrange and a larger Accuton driver than what is in the Soundscape.  The comments seem to be consistent with my brief observations between my HT1’s and the Soundscape 10’s.   They seemed to be very close in the midrange.   The main reason that I am upgrading to the Soundscape 10’s are that I want a 3 way so I won’t have to use an electronic crossover and a subwoofer.

What I love best about my HT1’s are that, on most songs, they are very exciting to listen too.   The Soundscape 10’s seem to be exciting too, but whether they are as exciting as my HT1’s or not will have to wait until I get delivery and run both of them on the same system.  To me the Accutons sound a bit smoother and a little more natural.

Well--good enough for the English Channel maybe.   But not an HT3.
