Hi all, found this forum while searching for any discussions on Bryston A3's.
Been enjoying reading James' posts/white papers.  Original owner of
4B amp and 11B preamp listening and enjoying with newer A3 speakers.

Hi all,

I am a long time fan of Bryston gear.  Started with and still have a 4B and 11B I bought new ~30 yrs ago.
More recently picked up a pair of A3's and now run a Cambridge Audio 851C as primary source.
I am about to buy a used BDP-2 from a seller on CAM.  Been using Spotify for a few years but made
the plunge to Tidal this past weekend: even my old ears notice the quality difference.

cheers,
Dean

I will assume that ON relates to the Canadian province Ontario.

I too am in that province, and welcome to AC!

apologies for reposting an intro.  I mistakenly thought I had been booted for not participating.
This is a great circle!  Just picked up a BDP-2, then in the rabbit hole saw the Bryston owners gallery .... sigh

Here's a small adventure story:  my 4B (still the only one I have ever owned) took a downturn
because I kept powering off and the switch eventually died.  I called Bryston and they
told me I could send in for repair.  I asked where that was and if I could bring it in and wait (how does one live without
hifi ?). Yes, come by  their Markham (back then) depot.  Dropped it off and
they repaired and bench tested it. While I waited I went out and bought a pair of bookshelf speakers from
a nearby dealer (before Bryston had their own line).  2hrs later and bingo, repaired no charge
and a few fuses gifted my way but also dinged my bank account on new speakers.  Win Win

Welcome. I'm also located in Ontario, about 50 km east of Toronto. Enjoy it here, there's lots of information on a wide variety of audio topics.
