Thanks but I can't see anything in your pic. Too dark and too far away.

That is the only picture they send me of the whole system. The only close-up I have is this:

I wonder if performance would be better if the amplifiers were not sitting on vibrating speaker bases. :dunno: Yes, I know active speakers have internal amplifiers but many times the amps are only for the low frequencies.

The X4's do not have amps for the bass (purely passive), but the vibration is no joke.

Just yesterday I put  some cork and rubber isolators under the Intel NUC Roon ROCK server feeding USB to my DAC, and it made a very clear difference. The server was sitting on the floor, so I knew it would see whatever vibrations were coming through the floor. I did not expect that it would matter that much. I was wrong.

Possibly the amps were resting there while the speakers were being moved to find the best position. But the amps should definitely get moved off of the crossovers and onto small platforms.

The rubber and cork isolators off of Amazon seem to work well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B082J6FV57

That is my system and I apologize, I am definitely not a photographer! I originally sent that to Orchard to show them how nicely the amps fit on the back of the base of the X4. Didn't know they would use the photo as a promotion. Not that I mind.

I have since put Vibrapads under the amps and heavy door stops on top. Didn't make any audible difference, but gave me a warm and fuzzy knowing that it helped with vibrations.

The Orchards did a fantastic job of brining the X4s to life! More detail, better bass control and dead silent which helped with adding air around everything. This is comparing my Kinki EXM1+ used as an integrated with upgraded Staccato Opamps.  My buddy and I also compared the Starkrimson monos (upgraded to 21.5db gain and 300w GaN power supply) to an Audiophonics "Purifi" stereo amp last night. We were curious if there was a difference between GaN and Purifi based amplifiers. There were more similarities than differences, but they were not the same. I did like how the Audiophonics brought out even more detail using the Purifi module, along with even better bass control. We used a cheap pair of Micca 14ga/6ft speaker cable due to my Anit-Cables only being 3ft and didn't reach the Audiophonics when connected. The Audiophonics bested the Starkrimson UNTIL I connected the Anti-Cables 4.2 FLEX speaker cables back up. This brought the Starkrimson monos back up to the level of the Audiophonics Purifi stereo amps. The Anti-cable 4.2 FLEX are no joke!

Anyway, the Orchard Audio Starkrimson monos are great amplifiers and it only benefits us Spatial Audio X4 owners knowing that they fit nicely behind speaker and on top of the crossover enclosure. And no, it doesn't vibrate enough to cause any audible issues. Just pure audio enjoyment and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Peace!

Dave
