Has anyone had a chance to listen to speakers using the new Purifi 6.5 inch drivers driven by a tube amp? Curious if they need a more powerful tube amp like 30 plus watts to sound great or not. Believe they are in the 85-90db range sensitivity. Sounds like they are quite the step up in a lot of areas. I have bookshelf speakers using the Scanspeak 8545 midbass and Dynaudio Esotar tweeters so will experiment with swapping in the Purifi drivers and see what I get. I read one review where they were the exact same size. Obviously a low powered SET is not going to cut it but maybe a ARC Classic 60 or similar amp would produce good results. Nothing else will try a top tier tube pre with a SS amp.
