Too loud and neighbors
« on: 2 Mar 2023, 03:05 am »
I play my music at reasonable volumes. Not so reasonably late at night, relatively speaking.
I have a samsung smartthings button stuck to the front door of my apartment that says “push button if music too loud”. I get a notification if someone pushes the button, I then turn off the music for 60 seconds, set the volume down 3 db and turn it back on. Nobody has ever come back the same night to complain about the volume because I am a good neighbor, or at least my neighbors think so.

Most neighbors appreciate as long as the effort is made. Good on you for being proactive in your approach.

I lived most of my life in appartments/condos/town homes.  Now I live in a house with no shared walls and brick over cinderblock construction.  It's sooooo nice.  I will never go back to sharing a wall (or ceiling or floor) with a neighbor.
