Hello Audio Experts!
  I don't think this album has been mentioned:

HERBIE HANCOCK  "River: The Joni Letters"

Excellent SQ & production, and it won a Grammy.  Check out the guest list:
Wayne Shorter
Dave Holland
Norah Jones
Tina Turner
Joni Mitchell
Leonard Cohen
& more!

Happy Listening,  Murf   8)

I just got this one, don't know if it has been mentioned yet or not, not exactly music. Well it does contain music along with plenty of test tones and sound effects, very dynamic.

I'll add the alternative rock trio, Morphine, to the mix.  Their first album, "Good" is more than good.  Recording quality is excellent.  They are often understated and, as a trio, allow for impressive detail and separation.  They can also build to near frenzy, but don't go over the top.

Amazon has sample audio clips:

Yes, I figured it was probably redundant, but I wasn't about to go and read all the many pages of replies.
I didn't know they had a 24 bit version of the disc until recently.
Thank you

Another recommendation;

"The Fifth Element" soundtrack

http://www.amazon.com/The-Fifth-Element-Eric-Serra/dp/B000000WE5/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333837244&sr=8-1

While much of the music is a bit odd (I like it :thumb:), check out track 14 if you like classical/opera; sounds fantastic on my HT2-TLs.

Over the weekend I spent time listening to various CDs, and "No Frills" by Nik Kershaw emerged as a reference CD on my Salk speakers.

No Frills features solo-acoustic Nik Kershaw singing deconstructing selected songs while very tastefully playing acoustic guitar. The level of craftmanship is top notch, but the best part is the amazing wide-open and airy sound quality. My Salks exposed very subtle nuances I'd never noticed before. Highly recommended as a demo disc - or just to enjoy thoroughly!  :thumb:

I bought it from the artist's own web site: Nik Kershaw's site, but there may be other avenues. This is a self-released CD, so digital downloads are easier to find, but the extra effort is more than worth it!

Allison Crowe is amazing and she sounds incredible on the Songtowers.  You can start by listening to her version of Time After Time, but she has many great songs!

Hmmm......I can't remember if I mentioned this one before:

"Mancini's Greatest Hits" on the Telarc label;

Sounds great!

I keep forgetting to post this one.

http://www.amazon.com/One-Only-Thrill-Melody-Gardot/dp/B001NESPHC/ref=sr_1_2?s=music&ie=UTF8&qid=1335557940&sr=1-2

I am rarely, rarely impressed with new singers/musicians but this gal has it all. Great tight band and she writes her own music - very much like the classics of yesteryear, great singer and a wonderful, very sexy voice.

(Oooo yes, I could fall in love with her. 8))
