Don't buy cheap Japanese crap!

If you're going to be in a car wreck, it's better to be in a massive, heavy vehicle.

Social Security will be there when we retire!

Son, there's two things in life that will get you in trouble, your dick and your signature.  :thumb:

Hmmm. "One lump deserves another", " To each his own", "Make Love not War", " Reap what you Sow", " Save for a Rainy day", "The Early Bird gets the Worm", " Sticks and Stones will break my bones but Words will never harm me" and " Fools rush In"

Don't run with scissors!

Put that down you'll put someone's eye out!

If a deal looks too good to be true it usually is...

Go outside and play - we were never told what to play with and more times than not got hell for whatever we decided to play with

Will you go light somewhere!

Back when I was a young kid at boarding school in the UK my dad used to write a letter to me once a week, on the bottom of the letters he always put the letters:

DLTBGYD

Many years later I found out that it means "Don't Let The Bastards Grind You Down"

I always think of those words now when having a bad day at work...

Cheers

"Eat your dinner..children are starving in Korea"...my sister got "children starving in Russia"...different time, different war.  I think that my sister also got the "guilt trip" about English children being bombed and going hungry.

Best advice I've ever gotten in my entire life.

My father told me "All women are crazy son, all of them even your mother, it's important for you to understand this so that you don't think that you're crazy".
Your father is a gentleman. :thumb:

You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink!!!

or "beating a dead horse"  I combine them:

"You can bring a horse to water but you can't make him drink even if you beat him till his dead"  I use that one at work at times for specific situations when people are supposed to do things they don't (intentionally eg to avoid work, lazy etc).

Also:
"can't teach an old dog new tricks"
"shoemakers children have no shoes"

When looking for something in the wrong place, "you're barking up the wrong tree"

When attempting something that is virtually impossible or very frustrationg, "your're pissing up a rope".
