Updated Parameters of Shiva-X & Tempest-X
« on: 13 Nov 2007, 10:26 pm »
If you have downloaded the Shiva-X & Tempest-X data sheets you may want to delete them and download the most current version.   I've updated the T/S parameters with measurements from the latest production run.

These are the most accurate parameters that I know how to take.      I broke-in the drivers for a good 12 hours of operation with a 20-25Hz sine wave near full excursion.    I measure with Praxis @ sea level and about 55 deg F.    We also measure at a relatively high drive signal.   Why?   Well.... I know T/S is a small signal test but for subs we find that taking a small signal measurement doesn't accurately reflect real world operation.  So we take them with a little more juice to more accurately reflect the suspension compliance under operation.

The cms is a still a little stiffer than target but we are within spitting distance.   They may soften up a little with more use and if measured at higher ambient temp (my warehouse is chilly).    The difference in the modeling is pretty minimal though.

I'm working on application notes for both Shiva & Tempest and should have those updated within the next 48 hours.
