Casey evaluated the pilot production sample today and we both preferred it over the Marantz SA-7 (which we used in our lab for reference).
Oh well, there are still people who want to use a CD player and we think CDP-8 can be a break-through in price/performance.
The MSRP for CDP-8 is $1495. Not bad considering it can go head to head with the $7000 Marantz SA-7
The estimated ship date for CDP-8 is early September.

It is only for the good old red book CD.  We will publish some technical info soon. This is the purest implementation of a CDP (with exceptional clocking etc) to get the best performance to rival a music server with DAC.

MSR-1 with internal DAC not as good as CDP-8
MSR-1 with external Nuforce DAC-9 is better than CDP-8
CDP-8 with external Nuforce DAC-9 is probably equal to MSR-1 with DAC-9. We don't know about yet.
