That is a BPT power center for the amps.

Bryan

Speaking of BPT...I went to his site but he doesn't have any pricing listed.  Is it hidden or just not there?  Anyone?

After you select the unit, click on the picture and it will give you the details and pricing.  I just linked to the page for that particular unit in my previous post.

I see by the sound recording that the electronics and speakers seem to do well but the room reflections are very strong.  Was the room as bad  in person as it sounds on the recording?

Not sure what you're referring to.  First reflections from the side were diffused as much as possible rather than absorbed.  I hear a lot of recording hall ambience.  The room was certianly not full of reflections and the sound was actually very good IMO.

Too bad the Empirical Audio pictures didnt show ANY of our gear!!! :duh:

This is what happens when they run in and take pictures and run out....

Room reflections were minimal IMO, just what was needed for bass.  Much better than last year thanks to Bryan and GIK acoustics.

I listened to the Audiogon track of our room, and even with my cheapo headphones it sounded like the room.  Nice tight bass.  The Track unfortunately was not my best....

Yep, most folk just look at the speakers and the amps and as a consequence miss all the really good stuff.

It is unfortunate.  Part of the beauty of Steve's equipment is that it has such a small footprint.  Add in a Mac Mini and the whole thing isn't much bigger than a small monitor speaker.  They also likely missed all of Chris' power conditioning over on the counter where all of the Empirical gear was.

Another report from Stephen Marsh of 6moons:

"Now if he could only put the DAC into a larger box and have the Offramp (or Pace Car) as a drop-in with customized options. "

Steve N.

Isn't at least part of that (USB) basically what you have now?

That's true.  The Off-Ramp is really inside the Overdrive.  The only down side is that the clock options are limited in the Overdrive.  This is about to change however.  I'm working on a dual-clock board in Superclock4 form-factor.
