Hi Steve, when I strip the outer core of the cable, inside there are 3 wires in red, blue and white, do I strip them all and bundle altogether into the red binding post?
It sounds like you have a shielded
stereo cable and the plug is a 3-conductor, with 2 insulating bands separating the three plug contact surfaces. The jack is normally a 2-conductor, so it should contact the tip and the section closest to the plug body (and not the center section).
I see that Atlplasma had success with a stereo cable between his two trigger jacks. I don't know if there is a standard color code, so you would have to check with an ohmmeter or continuity tester to verify which color wires correspond to which plug contacts (most
likely red=tip, blue=center and white=ground).
You only need two wires to work correctly, and if there is an outer shield conductor , it is not needed for this application.
