If you only had a second one...

That is a beautiful enclosure and would look great in anybody's 2 channel or HT setup.

Best of luck with the sale.

Every time I build a set of these I swear to god I will not build them again....I swear to god I will not build them again, I swear to god I will not build them again, I swear to god I will not build them again...... :duh:

If there are a couple of you that would like a pair I may turn out a few more in a couple mos.

Well Chris,

I'm not sure about George but I am really serious about 2 of those for my HT.

We can talk about pricing when you're ready to do it.

We can discuss further via pm, email, or phone. :)

Thanks,

Chris,
Time to get back into the shop and build some more subs... You can do it!!!  :thumb:
Kidding aside, I'm aware that these enclosures required a lot of time & labor to build them and I'm just so glad that I have two of them in my living room.

Hugh,
If you ever want to audition these subs, feel free to PM me.

The problem is that I would want a pair, but at the used price.

For $1k, somebody out there needs to grab this.

From talking to Marbles, this sub will perform as well as it looks!!!

George have you considered OB's?

Sneak peak of a sub going to Michigan....

Hand-cut dovetails, solid Am.Cherry about 1.5" thick

Yes I have.

I have decided to build a pair of open baffle, dual driver subs using the GR Research drivers and Rythmik Audio servo amps.

That frame looks very nice!!

Guys, I need a computer for my shop. I'm willing to trade the Dymaxion sub for a well cared for Macbook or iMac if anyone is ready for an upgrade.

What led to the name Dymaxion being chosen? Was it intended to relate to Buckminster Fuller's car?

Russell,

Yes and no.....

Bucky Fuller coined the term Dymaxion which means "DYnamic - MAXimum - tensION"

From the Fuller Institute....."At the heart of Buckminster Fuller's Dymaxion concept is the idea that rational action in a rational world demands the most efficient overall performance per unit of input. His Dymaxion structures, then are those that yield the greatest possible efficiency in terms of available technology."

This sub has closer roots to Fullers Geodesic Dome than his car.  I wanted to minimize the panel size of any given side yet maximize the internal volume. The result is a very stout enclosure with no side being larger than 14"x14"...smaller sides = better sub.

D,

I'd like to say thanks again for allowing me into your home and to experience your setup.

Your dual subs are quite nice and very good looking.

I'd love to have those 2 subs. :)
