a NEW 3,3V MOD for the SB2/3
« on: 18 Apr 2008, 10:52 am »
hi ppl

I want you to attend to a new mod

I needed proof that the mod would work but after 3, 5weeks of burn in ( of the 4-6 ) I  start to notice that it is really working
the mod is about to bypass or delete the internal switching supplies in the SB3.
Even when you have a super PWS for the 5V input of the SB3 as Pat pointed out in the LAB circle, there are still 'switching noise " things going on inside the SB3 after the clean 5V input.
This digital modification now introduces a second power input: the 3.3V line for the Sp/dif out.
This way the S/PDIF out circuit is not contaminated by switching noise

what i hear after 3,5 weeks (already) from the 4-6 weeks i have to burn in is a "fluidity" that wasn't there before. more transparent and so on.

there is more info at the forum of:  Bolder Cable Company
